Our Klaus

Post by dunbarx » Tue May 08, 2018 7:51 pm

I estimate that about the middle of June, Klaus will pass the 10,000 mark.

That means he has spent, oh, about four weeks, 24/7, responding to queries on this forum.

Well, he is at 9890, only 110 more to go, but I think he is slowing down a bit with age and may take until August or <gasp> maybe even September...

Klaus has answered more of my questions in the past than I can remember, and has been invaluable. I remember asking questions here and whenever I saw his name as the replier I'd get excited because I knew he'd have the answers. Klaus is awesome!

Klaus and I have a dead kinky relationship: its a sort of co-dependency relationship:

he educates me, and I annoy him. 8)

especially by continually mistyping his name as 'Kalus'. :D

I hate to break it to you all Klaus is actually a German AI BOT.

It's a Livecode version of Joseph Weizenbaum's Eliza with artificial "Sarcasm" built in and an initial "German Humour" module added.

"Craig" on the other hand is a fork of "Klaus" using recursion and exits the call early when the stack overflows and thus has random questions at the end like "Post Back", "Ask for help?", "More?" this is to hide the fact that this experimental BOT has run out of memory.

As it is we would all be poorer without them.

Thanks Guys (BOTS?)

Regards Lagi

We need to ask Klaus a bunch of questions to get him over the hurdle faster.

Klaus: what is the airspeed of a swallow? And how would I translate that to pixel coordinates?

I would like to point out that neither Lagi or Craig are named "Klaus", not to mention that neither of them likely has any coconuts. So there. :P
