Documentation

I realize we're in Alpha, but Release Notes open 6.0.1. I was hoping to find the play guide that came out with the first pre-alpha, but I seem to have misplaced it.

I found the Alpha 1 documentation, if anyone is new to 8 and doesn't have it. The problem is that it's 2.9 MB, so I can't upload it to the forum, and compressing it doesn't make it small enough to upload it...

Guys,
Also see the first bug report. If you want to get to the Guide, open the dictionary, then close it, then reopen it. That will give you the tabs for Guide and API.

Hi Mikey,

Thanks for spotting this. I've created a bug report here:

http://quality.runrev.com/show_bug.cgi?id=14510

This should get resolved for the next update.

Warm regards,

Ben

Is there anyway to print the LCB documentation? I prefer to either print it off and read it or read it on a tablet (pdf) as opposed to reading it on my desktop.

Never mind, I found it inside the application package (forgot to check there) in the tools/documentation/guides folder. Not a pdf, but the .md file can be opened with Xcode and printed/saved as a pdf file. Good enough!

It is also part of the auto-generated user guide pdf (Help -> User Guide), although beware http://quality.livecode.com/show_bug.cgi?id=18479 - the user guide generation failed in 8.1.1-rc-1 Indy & Business

Thanks Ali. I don't suppose this is accessible from a tablet eh? (little Canadian-ism at the end)

Cheers,
