Any updates on the 2015 conference venue

Post by Coffee1633 » Tue Apr 07, 2015 12:21 am

The title says it all.
Any updates on the 2015 LC conference this summer? Times? Dates? Themes? Widgets of course, eh?!

I would endorse this quiet plea to settle the conference venue and timing as soon as is practical please. For those of us who travel from this part of the world (Australia and New Zealand) it is important to tie in a conference with one or two other events and visits to fully justify the journey. We are also approaching sale season for northern hemisphere travel and so of course known dates and destinations would be really helpful thanks.

If it were up to me the next one would be in Wellington.

Wellington Devon.UK... lat/long : 50.978564,-3.224499
Good access from Bristol Airport, close to both Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks... beautiful English countryside .:-)
Yes I could agree with that !...:-)

I'm sure the UK Wellington is very nice, but I was imagining Wellington NZ. They'll probably do a UK venue this year if they follow their historic pattern of alternating between US and UK venues, but if not for the main conference then perhaps for a regional conference I'd like to see something in the antipodes, and although Wellington is a personal favorite Auckland makes good sense too, as would Sidney.

I figured, but I still think it would be nice to put together a LiveCode conference in the antipodes. There are many users in that area, and it's very expensive for them to go to EU. A handful of us floated the idea a few years ago - maybe time to think about it in earnest?

Since there hasn't been an announcement yet and we're well into April, my guess is that the team has just dropped the ball on getting this together. Normally we would have heard something some months ago. They're probably having too much fun trying to get LC8 working and can't be bothered with us.

Maybe they'll skip a year.

I sent a note to Heather on this yesterday. Hopefully we'll see something here soon.

OK well I know I'm only one voice - but north american airfare sale has begun in New Zealand covering the period mid August to end November. Sale ends April 28. Any advice on at least the intended conference city would be gratefully received :P

I second that and I have a booming voice so let's count that as two. There are huge discounts on airfare because fuel prices are very low. I wood like to buy my air fare soon as well to take advantage of the savings. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
