Script Editor hidden gem

Post by thanhtruong » Thu Oct 15, 2020 4:09 am

Found this by accident and I found it to be helpful, If you use a two button mouse and right click on on a command, function, hander etc in the script editor. It will launch the Dictionary Browser info on the clicked word. Saves some time for a quick referance when editing your scripts.

I guess if you use a one button mouse you could command click to do it also.

Thank you for that wonderful hint: after 20 years of LiveCode I did not know that. 8)

On my Mac I get a contextual menu. Once it pops up, you need to select "Find in..." and choose Docs.

It used to be easier than that, the Dictionary selection wasn't included in the Find submenu, it had its own entry at the top. Are you using an older version of LC? I haven't seen a direct-to-dictionary click for a long time. It was inconvenient when they changed it.
