Installer (autoupdated?) failing on 9.0.4-rc-2 Mac OS

Post by teacherguy » Thu Apr 11, 2019 8:40 pm

I've tried a few times to install but it asks for admin permission to do the install and then fails. Anyone else? Thoughts?

I never used the autoupdater! I always go and check here and download everything manually:

While I'm with Klaus on this one (I don't tend to use the auto-updater), we are talking about a "release candidate", which means there may still be some kinks to work out.

For what it is worth, I was able to download and install this very version on 'nix. I have to say, there have been some real improvements, or at least I think so, but not everything is roses (yet).

Thanks folks. I usually go straight to downloads as well. Did that and all is well.

Just for the record, I downloaded the update straight from the web site and it failed to install as well. I double-clicked the DMG a second time and then it did install and has been running fine ever since. I've never seen that behavior before, and I wonder if it has something to do with the Mac, since the DMG was the same one that failed the first time.
