BUILDING FOR iOS on windows environment

Post by GPJMA » Mon Jan 29, 2018 1:15 am

Hi All.
Never come across this situation as I used to run the commercial version of L.C. But Why is it that I can use paid version of the community live code on my Mac and build for and test on iPad but in the windows version I cannot build for iPad?
Is this a live Code thing or, if it is an Apple thing why the difference?
Cheers

Disclaimer: I don't dev for mobile of any kind, so I am not sure this is correct.

I was under the impression that to build for ios (iphone, ipad, etc) xcode was required? I didn't think that it ran on Windows?

If that isn't the case, I'm sure someone with more knowledge will chime in shortly.

You are correct bogs. Xcode is required for iOS and it does not run on windows.

<phwew> Thanks quailcreek :D

Well there you go, it is an apple thing. As to why you can't use xcode on Windows, I dunno, best answer I found was here, mainly concerning OSX frameworks.
