No Learning Center?
I'm using Studio 2 on a Mac, and if I go to Development / Revolution Online there is no Learning Center as is shown in the second online training tutorial under Getting Started.
Um ... why?
Um ... why?

Hi James,
In version 2.7, this information moved to a more logical location: the learning center and its videos + PDF files are accessible from the documentation window - in the Getting Started' tab.
Hope this helped,
Jan Schenkel.

Re: No Learning Center?
Hi guduvisic,
well after more than 10 (TEN) years, the format of the livecode application has changed quite a BIT!
You find everything about examples and learning in the HELP menu.
Obviously the "Learning center" is not available anymore.
Best

Re: No Learning Center?
Huh, I never made the connection !**
Noting that this is guduvisic's first post, I'm not sure that it would be 'obvious' to someone who is trying Lc for the first time, and has probably read all about a feature or object that was available previously for a decade.
Perhaps "Unfortunately, ..." or "Currently", or something along those lines, eh?
Just food for thought

Re: No Learning Center?
What do you need to learn? How much of the manual have you read? Did you complete the intro tutorial?

Re: No Learning Center?
Mr. Bogs,
The last posting in this thread is more than 10 years old.
I said that somethig may have changed a bit in Livecode.
I said everything concerning examples and learning LC is now in the "Help" menu.
And the "Learning Center" is not in that menu anymore.
So THIS is what I call obvious***, or do you see it there?
***FYI: obvious = easily discovered, SEEN, or understood

nope, I don't see why!?

Re: No Learning Center?
This only tells me they took the time to look for a solution on their own, instead of jumping right to starting a new topic without any effort at discovery. You may have noticed I have this same tendency
We (you and I) have no issue with this, many things have changed in Lc.I said that somethig may have changed a bit in Livecode.
Again, we (you and I) have no issue there, it was very helpful to point out, and likely makes a great deal of sense from a design perspective when the mother-ship decided to do it.I said everything concerning examples and learning LC is now in the "Help" menu.

Ah HAH, now we have something to talk aboutSo THIS is what I call obvious***, or do you see it there?

Let me ask you, is 'common sense' really all that common? After all, a lot of people consider it 'common sense' to not touch a hot stove, but just as many learn not to touch it after ... well, after they touch a hot stove ! "But that should be obvious!!! Sure it should be, if you have the experience that makes it such.
You, Klaus, have been through many iterations of the IDE, and are probably on the cutting edge of it a lot of the time. Things you see as obvious, I would probably not, either though lack of experience, or knowledge. The learning center is referred to in a great many places online in reference to Lc, how would you expect it to be 'obvious' to that person, brand new to the environment, to know even where to look for it?
I think that is where we part ways, I would not expect it to be obvious to anyone new to an environment. Your expectations I guess are higher, I hope I don't continually disappoint you (but it is probably too late for that)
Re: No Learning Center?
I was afraid of this. I really and only was referring to the meaning of the word "obvious", if you can see or not see something, then it is obvious.
That's all, have a nice day.
