scrolling groups + mobgui objects on Android

The only way I seem able to get my groups to scroll is to use:
set the top of group "whatever" to -vOffset - not set the vscroll of group "whatever" to vOffset
It works quite well - so not a problem. Just bizarre that other demos I've used - and that work don't use this.
I did have an initial problem that I had forgotten that I was using old mobgui for objects and tried to use 'new' - that stopped it scrolling - also none of the scrolling demos I've seen use mobgui so it is hard to compare like with like.
I was starting to wonder whether a group with mobgui objects is inverted.
