Mobile Browser Control in newsletter

I downloaded the example mobile browser control - tried to create it as a standalone Android app - Livecode starts to build it - but it doesn't run through the usual sequence and no apk is produced. Though it will run correctly via Test thru USB to my mobile. I've tried using 6.5.2 & 6.6 etc.

Hi Newtronsols,

If possible, could you further elaborate on what happens when your attempt to build an Android standalone? (e.g. are any folders created where you specify the build to happen).

Along with this information, could you please let us know what operating system and version you are running LiveCode from as this could help up track down what is causing the issue.

Kind Regards,

When I save as standalone Livecode simply creates a folder called My browser but does not create an apk. When I test via USB it works - presumably Livecode goes through the same build sequence (in a hidden temp folder?). So I don't think it relates to Windows 7.

I can build an apk with items I build myself - it just seems to be 'some' of the downloaded examples. For example I could build/test the App design kit (app2market apk). I am now also using Winrar to expand the compressed files. So that problem was eliminated.

I wondered if there's a difference between Livecode files originated in Commercial or Community?

Hi newtronsols,

What you are experiencing seems to be a bug as I am able to replicate this issues. It seems to be triggered as the mobile browser sample stack is saved with deployment to iOS active and as there is no way to disable/enable this on windows, LiveCode simply creates an empty folder as this seems to break the build process.

I have created a bug report on the issue. This is viewable here-

http://quality.runrev.com/show_bug.cgi?id=12014

Until this issue is resolved, please find attached the mobile browser control sample stack which I have disabled iOS deployment on.

Let us know how you get on with this

Kind Regards,

Yes that does work. I guess this applies to any demo download that was previously built for both iOS and Android.

Yes, this will apply to all stacks with both iOS and Android enabled. This issue was resolved in a previous revision on LiveCode but has since, snuck back in. As this is the case, it should be a relativley easy issue to resolve and a fix will be implemented in an future version of LiveCode

If you come across any example stack that experience this issue, please let me know and I will happily adjust and re-upload

Kind Regards,
