After seeing the difference between the version of Mobgui in Lesson 1 (0-29) and the latest version (0-30), and reading Neil's response to a previous question about the 2 versions, I decided to load the 0-29 plugin as it will be much easier to follow the lessons.
Although LC will recognize 0-30 when it is installed in the plugin folder, it will not recognize 0-29 (i.e. it does not show up in the plugins list under the Development menu tab).
To be clear:
I have set up the My Livecode folders as instructed in Lesson 0.
I have only put versions 0-29 or 0-30 in the plug-in folder independently, not both at the same time.
I have checked the direction to the My Livecode folder in Preferences under Files and Memory and it is correct (must be for version 0-30 to work).
I an running on a Mac.
When I have 0-30 in the plugins folder, the plugin is in the list and it works. When I have the 0-29 version in the plugin folder it does not show up in the list.
I am running LiveCode Community 6.5.2.
I have been shutting LiveCode down and restarting it each time I change the plugin.
Help would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Ken Donnelly

Re: Mobgui plugin v0-29 not recognized
Update:
I have it working now in the non-community version, which I will use exclusively.

Hi Ken,
Commercial password protected plugins will not run in the community version of LiveCode. This is why the plugin would not show in the community plugin list.
Its great to hear that you managed to resolve this issue over the weekend..
Kind Regards,
Neil Roger

Ok, thanks Neil. Should not have been using the community version, it was a mistake. Was travelling and on laptop, and did not realize it.
Good to know why it would not work.
Cheers,
Ken
