I went over the instructions many times but I am having trouble with installing the proper Android SDK packages from the SDK Manager.
I am using Mac OS X 10.7.5
I did download and install the jdk on my mac. I don't know why, I just did. Maybe I shouldn't have.
I don't know if this makes a difference but I checked the version of java sdk and I believe it is 1.7.0_25. Does this matter?
I downloaded the SDK for existing IDEs but after I unzipped the file I noticed two things
1) there were fewer folders in my unzipped android-sdk-macosx folder than in the one from the video instructions
particularly there was no platforms-tools folder
(see fig 1)
2) Then when I went to install the packages they were not showing in the SDK Manager. ( see Android SDK manager screenshot)
Any Ideas how to get the packages to show in the manager?

Thank you for your request.
There have been some reports on this issue discussed via stackoverflow. Some users experienced this issue as they were connecting to the internet via a proxy server and some were able to resolve it by adjusting various Package manager settings.

Re: Arrg... Android SDK Manager doesn't show packages (MAC)
Thanks for the link. I have tried several things but nothing seems to work. Luckily, I have several other computer options so I think that I will put this issue aside for now and get to some coding. I will work on the iOS port from my mac and get the android version up and running from my PC. I guess that is the beauty of LC and thanks to runrev for allowing us to be able to install on several platforms simultaneously. It really helps logistically. I mean, home computers, work computers, notebooks for the train ride home. I can program where ever I find myself and I can have a copy of LC on several platforms.
If I ever get the android SDK working I will be sure to chime in
cheers
