Hi Pip,

do you work on a Mac?
Did you already downloaded the MobGUI-Stack?

If on Mac just copy "MobGUI.livecode" to /Users/"youruser"/Documents/My LiveCode/Plugins

If the path ../My LiveCode/Plugins/ does not exist, create it.

Now you can access the Plugin via LiveCodes Toolbar "Develepement > Plugins > revMobGUI

There is an update to version 0.29

Hey there,

I've got the MobGui stack in the directory you mention (and it matches the one in the Preferences for User Extensions), but Mobgui is refusing to show up in the available PlugIns.

Any ideas?

Many thanks!

Hi Bill

You need to be using the Commercial Edition (blue). If you have the Community Edition MobGUI will not work as it is not under a GPL license. You can download the Commercial Edition from your LiveCode account.

I hope that helps.

Doesn't it require a restart of LiveCode after installing a plugin, before the plugin appears in the menu?

This might be creating confusion for some people, as it never seems to get mentioned...

Thanks Elanor and Larry

I have the commercial license installed and working. I have the stack in the right directory, and if i double click the stack in finder, MobGui launches and I can drag elements from it in and make stand-alone apps with working functionality from it. But when I go to Development->Plugins it isn't in the list.

As clicking the stack launches it and it works, it is just weird, but would be great to figure out what is causing the mix up.

In the Preferences options, is the path to User Extensions the same as where the Plugins should be?

Thanks for your help!!

Hi,

My 'User Extensions' path is set to /Users/marcvancauwenberghe/Documents/Livecode
whereas the plugin folder in there. So the path should point to the folder above.

Kind regards,
Marc

Beauty catch, Marc...

One of the things I tried in the Community version to fix it before I upgraded to the Commercial licence was to change that path to include ->Plugins...

I removed that out of the path in User Extensions preferences and restarted and MobGui is now there!

Well done and thanks!!

Thanks so much, I was having the same problem. In Preferences/Files & Memory the path to User Extensions should be /Users/[username]/Documents/My LiveCode

My default path had /Plugins at the end. Deleting that part fixed the problem.

Yes, native theming was one of the KickStarter StretchGoals :) You will be able to keep up to date with the progress of this and all other LiveCode related projects here-

Hi,

Where are the four .ttf files supposed to be located when upgrading to the new version 1.1 of MobGUI?

Thanks
Aji

Hi, Aji. You can install the ttf files on your system (usually double clicking them starts the associated program for installation) then use them if required for button icons, etc.

Thanks Splash. That worked and they installed as fonts.

I see in MobGui that my icon has a font of "mobguicons-1" and the selected character is "a". That makes a globe appear.

Is there any easy way to figure out which characters line up with each icon for the mobgui-icons fonts? I don't see any selector/browser interface from the property inspector or mobgui. I also launched the font book and that doesn't help much.

I can go with trial and error, but I'm wondering if there is an easy icon-font-graphic selector/browser and I'm just not seeing how to launch it.

Much obliged,
Aji
