Bluetooth

Post by Ionni » Sun Oct 28, 2018 6:36 pm

Good morning I can not find information on the possibility of using Bluetooth for Android devices, I saw that something was created for IOS by mergEXt, but for Android I could not even understand if it was integrated something maybe in the Indy or Business licenses
Thank you
Gianni

So far most of the mergX commands are iOS only. There's no bluetooth for Android yet, unfortunately.

I moved to other android programming tools back in 2015 because some of my clients needed bluetooth functionality on Android devices.
Livecode is a great product, but not for bluetooth on Android.

Hi Livecoders, does anyone know if this is still true as of January 2021? (quoting Jacque's post from Oct 2018):
There's no bluetooth for Android yet, unfortunately.
If answer is yes, is there any workaround to have a LC App on Android interacting with a BT device?

Many thanks for any guidance

Best
Simon

Unfortunately, it's still true. This sounds like a job for LC Builder.

Hi Jacque, many thanks for your prompt (and dissapointing even though is not your fault) reply.

Do you know if it is even in the roadmap for short term release?

Maybe someone from LC Staff would be kind enough to give some light on the subject.

You could write to support and ask, they might give you a vague and indeterminate response. :)

Jacque I'm impressed with your skills to guess the future,

please see below the answer I got
Dear Simon,

Thank you for your request.

I can raise this issue again. I'm afraid I can't really give you a timeline, I'm sure this feature will appear at some point, either wrapped by a community member or added by the team.

Best Regards,
Simon

It was pure clairvoyance. Let me know if you ever want to speak to any of your deceased ancestors.

Thanks for the offer Jacque. I will consider it (is mother in law included in the package?)

I'm also thinking that next time when LC complies about my missing renewal payment I will answer with:
I'm sure this payment will appear at some point.
and see what happens
