Android deployment - can't, won't

Post by vlad-x » Tue Apr 04, 2017 9:51 pm

Hi,

I followed the "Notes app" tutorial. And the app works well on Windows. However, could not deploy it as HTML5 (posted a separate topic on that) and Android.

I installed Android SDK and all the relevant files, JAVA is there too.

I followed the guide and started the Android Emulator. All works fine. However, when I try to "Test" the emulator says on the "phone" screen: "Unfortunately, Notes has stopped".

Please help.
Vlad

Hi Vlad,

Which version of LiveCode are you using?

The message "Unfortunately, Notes has stopped", means that the Notes app has crashed on startup.

Best,
Panos

I'm using Indy 9.0

Any ways to avoid the crush?

If what you see is a crash, then this is a bug that has to be fixed. I suggest you file a bug report at quality.livecode.com

Moreover, LiveCode 9.0 is still in DP (=Developer Preview) stage, so I suggest you download the latest *stable* version (currently 8.1.3) or the latest RC (=Release Candidate) version, currently 8.1.4 RC 1.

You can find them here: http://downloads.livecode.com/livecode/

BTW do you see this bug in a physical Android device? I rarely use the Android emulator.
