App not running on Samsung 2.2 Froyo

I now have nearly 200 Android installs of my first time ever LC 7.0.1 Community app creation.
Those who have apps on Google Play will know one gets a detailed analysis of the devices it's installed on and I have just one installed on an Android 2.2 and it was this person who informed me that whilst it installed OK, when tapping the icon it just gives a black screen and returns to the apps screen selection.
When I saved the Standalone Application I used the default 2.2 Froyo and so wondering what would cause the problem on this Samsung 2.2 (Froyo) mobile?

I had the same issue when running an older device a couple of years ago. There are incompatibilities with Froyo. The easiest solution is to compile for Android 2.3 as the minimum.

The only versions to compile with are 2.3 - Gingerbread and 2.3.3 and so I did both for the chap, but both after tapping the icon gave him the same black screen and reverted back to the app selection on his mobile.

Hm, I'm not sure. What you're describing is a crash, and it used to happen in 2.2 if any sensors were turned on. Turning off all the sensors fixed it, but it was just easier to build for 2.3 which did work. I can't remember now whether the sensors were the ones listed in standalone settings, or whether it had to be done through a terminal app. One of the team members did it while I watched and he was moving so fast in Terminal that I couldn't follow it. One thing to check is that all the Requirements and Restrictions in standalone settings are set to N/A.
If that isn't working then I'd report it at
http://quality.runrev.com, it's an engine problem.

Hi Ruth,
Thanks for your comment. We are still investigating this issue. It seems to be specific to android 2.2, and it happens even with an empty stack. Currently we have only tested on simulator. We will update you when the status of this report changes.
