[Solved] installing behind proxy

Post by lordmax » Mon Apr 29, 2013 9:08 am

Hi to all

I'm new to livecode.
I'm trying to install it but I'm behind a proxy
I've installed the linux version and it's ok (not behind proxy)
I'm installing the windows version (LiveCodeCommunityInstaller-6_0_0-Windows)
installation works fine (I think)

When start livecode it ask for email and password and then say "An error occured while attempting to contact the server"
Where I can sets proxy?

I can't bypass proxy and I need livecode for work (I'm in charge to verify it for our company)
Can you give me some hints?

Thanks

If you can get on to the preferences panel, I think there is an HTTP Proxy field there http://i.imgur.com/VhpnBy8.png

No, I can't get on to the preferences panel. It stopped me at the login page.

Here's another thought, I looked around the folder and saw "revpreferences.rev" on there. It seems to contain the settings of LiveCode as custom properties. If you managed to set up LiveCode on Linux, see if you can copy that file from the Linux installation onto the Windows one. It might bypass your login window if (and only if) your account info is also stored somewhere on there.

Hi Lordmax et al.

Thank you for your request.

I have created a LiveCode lesson that should be able to help you with activating LiveCode when you are either offline or from behind a proxy.

http://lessons.runrev.com/s/lessons/m/2 ... activation

If you have any issues activating Livecode with the above method then please do not hesitate to contact us at support@runrev.com

Kind Regards,

Neil Roger

Hi

Thanks for this lesson but it don't work

I downloaded the file.
Put it into
"C:\Users\utente\AppData\Roaming\RunRev\Licenses"

And started livecode.
It ask for an email and password and refresh with error
There's only two button: <quit><activate>

I noticed that version is 6.0.0 and not 6.0.1

I renamed the lic file in:
"livecode-community-6_0_0-rc-1-1512"

But nothing change

Can you help me?

Thanks

P.S. I've commented the post too, feel free to delete if you wantù

GREAT!!!

It works!

I had to create the lic file named "livecode-community-6_0_0-1511" and then it started

Really hard to find the right version. :P

Thanks

Dear Lordmax,

I'm glad you managed to activate LiveCode :)

The licence file in the lesson was named for the most recent version of LiveCode (6.0.1) and this would explain why it would not work with your 6.0.0 version.

I would also recommend upgrading to 6.0.1 as there have been many bug fixes/amendments since the initial 6.0 release

Kind Regards,

Yes.
I just needed to figure out why it doesn't work

6.0.1 isn't ready to download at this very moment in my store's page.

You will not see 6.0.1 in your account as it is still an RC version. Once it hits GM it will appear.

In the mean time, you will be able to access 6.0.1 from the following links-

Mac:
http://www.runrev.com/downloads/livecod ... _1-Mac.dmg
Windows:
http://www.runrev.com/downloads/livecod ... indows.exe
Linux:
http://www.runrev.com/downloads/livecod ... -Linux.x86
