A combo box has as its subMenus the text of the button, a return delimited list, like all such gadgets. But it differs in that it can also display an additional user-entered string. That string is temporary; it does not, on its own, become part of the text of the button

Shortened form of "prefabricated", often used in the construction business. A prefab house is composed of modules built in a factory and then put together on site.
