LCU Showing Offline

Post by Ryahn » Tue Dec 31, 2013 11:47 pm

Hello, I got the $50 LCU. When I try to register it, it shows that I am offline and not able to download the course. Also I dont know how to tell which one of the LCU products is the paid one in my account.

Hi Ryahn,

If your internet connection is working, but LCU says you're offline, it is almost certainly a false negative. There have been intermittent problems with this, but I thought we had caught most of those in the latest version of LCU, v. 1.3.2. (Hopefully that's the version that you downloaded when you purchased it from RunRev. If not you should re-download it.)

The connection-checking routine in LCU is really basic. All it does is check this URL:

http://dev.on-rev.com/pwr/connectioncheck.lc

If it returns "true", LCU assumes online. What do you see when you try it in a web browser?

If LCU is consistently reporting Offline, you might try the Offline Download feature. Choose Register LiveCode University from the Help menu, then click "Download Offline". That will initiate a content download through your default web browser, which you can then import into LCU. See http://lcu.byu.edu/help/lcu_faq.lc for more information.

Please let me know if this doesn't work for you. We'll make sure you get up and running.

Regards,

Devin
