I have done everything but can't print the course completion certificate...?

Unit 5 : Stack Critique
Unit 8 : Annotated Readings Applications
are not in the task list for the self-evaluation tool.

Hi jihem,
Sorry for the problem. After some investigation I have found the problem, and will be releasing a new version later today that should fix it. The problem had to do with a mismatch between the assignment list and the completion schedule you set up when you started the course. This caused the assignments you list to not appear on the self-evaluation tool screen.

Couldn't you check and add the missing assignments at the startup.. ?

jihem,
The new version is v. 1.2.3, and I only sent it to RunRev a few hours ago, so I am certain they have not yet posted it to the LCU download site. (They're still asleep over there. :) )
Give them a day or so to get it posted, or email support and ask when they'll have it ready.
The new version will fix the database problem and add the missing assignments. Please keep me posted on your progress.

Regards,
Devin

Hi,
I'm still waiting for the update (and got no answer from the support since the last week).

Hi jihem,

Heather at support tells me that the new version is posted now. (v. 1.2.3) Just go download it from university.livecode.com again. You can just uninstall and reinstall (Windows) or delete the old version and copy the new version into its place (Mac). All of your user tracking data will still be intact, plus the missing assignments should appear.

Let me know how it goes.

The version of LCU has not been updated. I tried on http://university.livecode.com/thank-you/ and on my account. I got the same version 1.1.6. I made a new account and tried again (with the offer on livecode.com) : same result. I'm disappointed :(

Sorry to hear that. Please email support and let them know.

In the meantime, contact me directly via email at devin_asay@byu.edu, and I'll arrange to get you a copy of the new version immediately.

When I try and download LCU I get a window that says something about an alias. When I try and drag it to the applications folder I get a similar error. No luck. Any ideas or help is appreciated.

Shawn,
Sorry for the trouble. It looks like you're using the Mac version and you're trying to use the drag to application folder in the installer. Can you tell me the version number of LCU and of OSX you're using?
It appears that somehow in creating the installer the alias path to the Applications folder broke. I'll look into that for the next version.
But you say you're unable to drag LCU to the applications folder? Try dragging the application from the installer window to the Desktop, then to the Applications folder. Does that work? If not, you may not have administrator permissions on your hard drive. In any event, LCU can reside anywhere on your system and it will still work fine.
Let me know how things go, and do answer the questions above if you have a minute.
Thanks,
Devin

Devin,

I'm using Mac OSX 10.8.5 and LC 6.1.2 RC3.

Dragging to the desktop, then the applications folder didn't work either.

Okay, I'll check it out for the next release. I assume it works to just run it from whatever folder you copied it to?

Won't run at all. Keep getting alias errors. Even when I delete it, reboot, and download again. Very odd.

Shawn,
I've duplicated the alias problem. My main development machine is still 10.7.x, but I see the problem when I test it on a Mac with 10.8. So it appears that OS X 10.8.x breaks the alias to the Applications folder. But I didn't see the other problem you described. I was able to copy the LCU icon from the installer window to the desktop and run it from there. I could even copy LCU from the desktop to the Applications folder.
If you still can't get it to run, drop me an email directly, devin_asay@byu.edu, and I'll give you a download link from my server. That would narrow it down to a problem with the runrev server. (Although I haven't received any other reports of your particular problem.)
Sorry for the problems, Shawn. We'll get it solved for you.
