So part of my Hydra app is the ability to emulate the use of the Message Box in a standalone environment like a terminal or shell of sorts and after some testing, I've found the functionality doesn't exist in the Standalone engine. Is this deliberate or just an omission? I'm running on 7.1.4 Stable.

It's both deliberate and a side effect of how it ties into the IDE. But I want it in standalones too. It would make a good feature request.

It's been a while since I've used the QCC, or LiveCode in fact, but I could make a feature request there and link it here if you would like?

Added the feature request onto the QCC, if anyone has any additional IDE only features they would like to see tested for addition to the standalone engine, feel free to drop a comment on the QCC post.

I agree that revMessageBoxRedirect would be useful in standalones, but I wonder if the report title, "Support for IDE Specific Features in Standalone", may be a bit broad.

There are some IDE features that may not be practical in a standalone, and an item of that stated scope is arguably too broad to be actionable.

Such features would need to be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, and since the impetus for that report is revMessageBoxRedirect perhaps the report could be limited to that one, with other requests submitted for other language features as they become relevant to our work.
