Anyone planning on touching the XML external?

Hi folks,

as I was in Munich this week and had time to discuss with my fellow geeks there, we were quickly looking at the XML external and were discussing some strategies to speed it up. Anyone already working on that? Good idea or not? This would not be a quick shot, as I do not see the C speaking guys that often, however I would very much like to gain some speed there.

I think the XML external is fair game - there are certainly lots of opportunities for optimisation there and I think a lot of people would like that!
