Can RunRev peeps please have a look at the Speech to Text?
Hi RunRev,
I've tested the SPeech to Text for Android.
It works on every application I've tested except for Android apps built with LiveCode.
Can you please have a look at this functionality?

Text to speed is implemented as an external in LiveCode. Externals are not yet supported on mobile (but it's close.)

Oops, yes, and he also meant "speech", not "speed".
In any case, it's the same problem. Either one would require an external.

iOS has been updated to include externals in 4.6.2.
Android get left out in the cold on this release.
What a shame.

Yeah. Android is 6-10 months behind iOS, but it's coming.

10 months already?
Wish I would have known that before I purchased.
It could be coming for another two years.
No wonder there is so much missing functionality.
But on the other hand, LiveCode for Android has only just been released.
And there is plenty of functionality already built in.

They went for iOS first because that's where all the hoopla was, so when I say "six months", I mean it was about that long before they even started with Android. Android has got where it's at in about 2 months; they started it just before the conference, so they're clipping along at a very good pace. The stated goal is to get the two in parity as soon as possible, and you'll see more capabilities in each release.

Re: Can RunRev peeps please have a look at the Speech to Tex
Has there been any progress on this for Android?
I want to create an App for Android that uses both text to Speech and Speech to Text
If it's possible - then is there a speech to text example that shows you how to take a spoken sentence and put that into a variable.
