Could not compile application class...

Hey i just wanted to start coding an app. So for testing only built a blue screen with a button.

- Java SD Development Kid 8 Update 121 is installed
- Android SDK is installed
Android SDK Tools 25.2.5 & Android SDK Tools 25.0.3
Android 7.1.1 (everything installed)
Android 7.0 (everything installed)
Android 6.0 (everything installed)
Android 5.1.1 (everything installed)
Android 5.0.1 (everything installed)
- Live Code Community 8.1.3 is installed

Live Code finds Android SDK in preferences and shows right direction for JAVA SDK.

I get an error when building the apk or trying to test it directly on my device.

standalone application settings say android only checked.
minimum version: android 5.0
label has no "-"
Version Code: 1


But it always says: "Could not compile application class"

when trying to test.


Could anybody help me please?

Hi kap1987,

This error possibly comes from the Android SDK. I think you need to install Android 4.0.3 (API 15) as well.

Thank you... Do you mean 4.0.3 only or the above up to 5.0 as well?

No, just 4.0.3.

BTW are you on OS X, Linux or Windows?

I am on windows (10). i installed 4.0.3. and now it works... i have the apk. but i cannot install it on the device.

"There is a Problem Parsing the Package" it says
