I am having trouble creating push notifications using this tutorial. It seems to me to have a very little likelihood of working being that it is using api's that have been deprecated by google for years as I wrote about in this thread.

I was having a similar problem. The tutorial is indeed using a deprecated service, but there is a functioning version available in another thread http://forums.livecode.com/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=15154
