Installation of App Failed: pm1: syntax error: word unexpect

Post by lordjjl » Sun Feb 05, 2012 12:18 am

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone has seen this error before:

Installation of App Failed: 2432 KB/s (1495980 bytes in 0.600s) pm1: syntax error: word unexpected ( expecting ")" )

I get it when trying to build for the android emulator. It seems to error out when the app starts to copy over. I've tested other apps, even new blank stacks, and I get that error every time. It makes me think there is something wrong with my installation?

Any ideas?

Hi Josh,

Do you have parentheses or diacritics in any file path (a stack file path or a LiveCode file path or Android SDK file path etc)?

Do you realise that you're not supposed to "build" for the emulator? If you have installed the SDK correctly and are running the emulator, you should be able to select Android as a test target and choose Test from the Development menu.

Kind regards,

Mark
