Getting Started with Android

Post by maxs » Sun Jan 01, 2012 12:12 pm

Hi, I downloaded the mac version of the android deployment pack. (I could find no apps that come with it.)

The documentation says to run the SDK Manager and Install the Android 2.2 platform. Unfortunately, I don't have a clue how to do this or the following instructions. How do I get started getting my app onto my Android phone? Max

* On Mac or Linux, open a terminal and navigate to the tools/ directory in the Android SDK, then execute:

android

To download components, use the graphical UI of the Android SDK and AVD Manager to browse the SDK repository and select new or updated components (see figure 1).

Don't know if you've seen this yet, but if not you might look at http://lessons.runrev.com/s/lessons/m/4 ... r-on-a-PC- for a step by step for getting everything installed and ready.

Thank you, this page was so valuable. I never would have been able to figure this out from the release notes.
