San Diego?

Post by FourthWorld » Fri May 06, 2011 12:37 am

While at RevLive Judy asked me if we'd consider holding a RUG meeting further south. So let me be clear:

I LOVE SAN DIEGO!

Other places are cool too, but it's especially easy to get me to SD. :)

Pick any spot that's cycling distance from a train station and I'm there!

Doable? Who's game?

It was really great seeing you guys at the Rev conference. Will be fun to be able to get together again.
I would be happy with San Diego. Where would we meet?

I can get a meeting room at UCSD. Unfortunately, UCSD is in a mass-transit desert. The nearest Amtrak station is Solana Beach, with last train north M-Th at 8:54 pm, and Fri 9:49 pm. Richard G would have a heck of a bike ride up hill at Torrey Pines! There is a closer Coaster commuter train station in Sorrento Valley but it doesn't run frequently outside of rush hour and I don't know of bus connections to campus outside of rush hour.

REPLACE - with . in links below (forum doesn't allow me to post links)

See my earlier post about UCSD. If you drive to campus during weekdays, then you have to pay to park. Same as at all other UC and CSU campuses.

UCSD parking: on web (replace - with .)

In reference to Richards post on the Yahoo list: I am game for meeting where ever. San Diego would be just peachy.
