Meeting: February 6, Pasadena

Post by FourthWorld » Sun Jan 12, 2014 6:05 pm

Where:
Burger Continental, back room
535 S. Lake Avenue
Pasadena CA 91101
http://www.burgercontinentalpasadena.com/home.html

When:
Thursday, February 6
7:00PM

Who:
The meetings are open to any and all who have an interest in chatting about LiveCode.

What:
Attendees are encouraged to bring something to share - it can be a brief presentation, a problem you need help solving, or even just any question about LiveCode.

Additionally, a portion of this meeting will focus on getting started with LiveCode Server. Bring your laptop and have it set up with FTP/SFTP access to your site, and ideally download LiveCode Server ahead of time (you can get it from your account page at LiveCode.com). With those raw materials in hand we'll walk through setting it up on your server, and install and test a sample script to get you going. An overview of Apache will also be provided to help you gain a better understanding of how LiveCode Server interacts with it.

Bump for those who missed the original post about our meeting on Thursday.

We're focusing that meeting on LiveCode Server, so everyone who brings a laptop set up with FTP access to their site can have LiveCode Server installed and running there.

See ya' then....

For those of you who may not have an FTP tool yet, Filezilla is free and available for Mac, Window, and Linux:
https://filezilla-project.org/

Please bring your laptop already set up with FTP access to your server, and we'll take care of the rest in terms of getting LiveCode Server installed there with a sample script.
