Why I like LC 9.0.0

Post by richmond62 » Sun Jun 11, 2023 11:24 am

Because:

1. It can display imported SVG vector images.

2. It can build 32-bit Macintosh standalones.

3. It can run on MacOS 13.

Great combination. 8)

As has been recently pointed out here:

NOT everyone who wishes to leverage LiveCode is building for up to the minute machines.

Of course, what would be "totally orgasmic" would be a way to build standalones from LC 9 forwards for MacOS PPC and MacOS Classic with ALL the capabilities in LC 9+ . . .

But, if I could tell me 8 year old self in 1970 what I knew now I'd have a mental breakdown. 8)

Of course LC 6.1 cannot open LC 9 stacks unless they have been saved in the earlier file format, and a lot of the features in 7,8,9 get lost.

AND, opening something with LC features in LC 6.1 throws errours.

[and, before you blink; James Boswell spelt 'errour' like that, so I can too.] 8)
