Cleaning the bathroom

Post by richmond62 » Thu Dec 20, 2018 10:00 am

So, here I am with a large number of extremely old PCs doing sterling service running Xubuntu.

HOWEVER, their hard drives are chock full of lots of versions of LiveCode . . .

As far as I am concerned I should like to keep LC 8.1.9 (LC 8.1.10 seems to "go funny" from time to time on Linux) and LC 9.0.x, and REMOVE the rest.

HOWEVER, I really don't know how to remove everything from all the other versions . . .

i.e. not just the bits in the basic install location, but all the "twiddly bits" in other locations. 8)

Were they installed for one user or all?

Not really sure what you mean by the twiddly bits, however the surest way I know of to remove an Lc version is to locate and click on this file ~

It will be located in the same folder as the version of Lc you installed, and will remove everything related to that installation as far as I could tell.

Code: Select all

You're starting to talk Dutch now?
1. Dutch is probably a far better bet than "Double Dutch".

2. I was "in a relationship" (err, had a girlfriend) from Nord Holland for 4 years
from about 1983 to 1987 . . . and it would have been a bit odd if I hadn't picked
up a bit of Nederlaans during that time.

3. No that monie fowk are ettlin eftir Lallans, so mensefu Scots learn ither leids, forbye.

1. When Americans/English say let's do Double Dutch, we say 'Amerikaans Feest' aka 'Bring your own stuff to the party'

2. Of course (Nederlaans should be Nederlands) And they always teach you the 'bad' words first, as that is the funniest. (Say How are you doing --> Hallo Klootzak(with a smile)-->means Hi asshole)...you get the picture) One test to see if someone is really dutch is to let them say Scheveningen.

3. Sorry Google translate could not help me with that :)
