new pricing policy / community plus

Post by stoltenberg » Tue Jun 19, 2018 9:16 am

am i the only person bothered by the new pricing policy (dead of indy – community plus)? i'm not concerned with price increases in general or the circumstances that products change or develop further. but livecode gave me a »lifelong« offer back then and now i'm faced with: »Your $99 Indy License type is being discontinued.« (meaning. i have the choice of getting significantly less or paying much more.)

politics like this were actually the reason for me to leave the filemaker platform for example. in particular for commercial use, a degree of predictability and trust is essential. perhaps i'm getting it completely wrong? i hope so, because i would like to work with live code.
if not and i can speak for myself only, my trust is being discontinued, too. and a note before i will be considered a rude and demanding person: i published no projects with live code yet, i've buyed the indy licence to push the project and switch to it in the near future …)

thank you,
stoltenberg

When did they offer a $99 Indy license? The pricing I've seen is a multiple of that.

… i've found an order/receipt from the 8. of march, 2017.
my problem is not the price but the promise back then:
Never pay for another update to LiveCode. Get all new releases forever. No subscriptions, build as many apps as you like. This is an incredible offer just for you and it ends in 3 days time.

Oh, have no fear, LiveCode keep changing their prices and marketing strategy,
and anytime anyone complains they get slammed.

Please contact me in support where I will be happy to help you. There is clearly confusion about what you purchased.

Regards,

Heather

That's good, especially as I'm 100% sure the LiveCode people DON'T mean to be nasty,
it just seems a bit like that.

When you get to know them most of them are rather nice.
