Hi All,

This is my very first post here

I was wondering if there is a place/section where apps, games or UI's that have been built by the community are being shared - not stacks or source code - just like short descriptions with pics, vids or gifs..?

Thanks. I was thinking less instructional and more inspirational.

Kind of like a #MadeInLiveCode type of deal. Prototypes, finished applications and the like.
Would be cool to see what the LiveCode community have made or are currently working on.

I'd love to see what type of mobile apps people are making in LiveCode.

You can check my "references" page, except the app at the bottom of the page "1998", everything is made with Livecode and its ancestors Revolution or Metacard. And there is an iPad app listed, the one at the top "2013-2014". The rest is developed for desktop machines.

Aw man, didn't I have you covered? I even put up the nice pic!

Sorry, I was just trying to be helpful.

That page may no longer be reachable from the site and it highlights apps from other members of this forum.

The site also has so many pages by now that it is almost too much. I just wanted to highlight some of the better links. (and save the original poster some time)

Actually, I was joking, but in thinking about it I'll apologize to you. I have always found that site extremely helpful myself, but I had forgotten about some of the linking problems it has, which could make it confusing for new visitors. I sure was sorry to hear you no longer had the ability to access it.

You have nothing to apologize for. I was not offended. I was trying to simplify the process and explain to the forum why I piggybacked on your email.

Using sitesucker, I downloaded the entire site and if it ever goes down, I may try to replace it. It was done using Google Sites and has a lot of their functions intertwined with the html. If I ever figure out how to easily remove those functions, I will put it up somewhere else.

It also looks dated and I don't have the HTML5 skills to redo it in a modern way. So replacing it is on hold for now. Many people, new and old are still using it. So as long as it stays up, I am happy.

I have started a new one but am still deciding on the direction to go with it.

I am thinking of building a reference or "cookbook" site for LiveCode. One that will show how to do various tasks/functions for people who just want to write a program to do something, not just learn to program. I was thinking of a website patterned after the O'Reilly "Cookbook series of books with "recipes" for assorted tasks in different languages https://www.amazon.com/b?node=8400398011

The thought of a cookbook site reminds me of the help sections in the (very much older) Mc and Lc 2.2 IDEs, both of which contained exactly that type of code samples, small, easy and quick to type in, explained in detail as to what was going on.

I parted out Mc's help index as a whole, and hosted it in a few places, as far as I can tell the example code all still works although I am told that some of it is doing it the "long way around". Still working on parting out the Lc 2.x version though. If you'd like to look through them (for nostalgia, if nothing else), you can get the Mc stacks here in either standalone or stack form. I of course suggest the stack form one since that would be the easiest to rifle through.

Edit - As far as 'modernizing' it goes, I don't think thats all it is cracked up to be, there is a lot to be said for something that is simple, well organized, and easy to follow. I never use more than plain old HTML 4 myself when I have a choice, along with plain old CSS for controlling the looks, and very simple CSS at that.
