What did they reply when you sent those to them?

"reply"?What did they rely when you sent those to them?
Guess how you grow mushrooms: keep them in the dark and throw sh*t on them.

Did you have an unpleasant experience writing to Support, or are you just full of "mushrooms"?richmond62 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 23, 2018 8:19 am"reply"?What did they rely when you sent those to them?

What is it exactly that prompts the way you write? You sound bitter. Often. Very bitter.

Re: LiveCode Marketing Suggestions
1. I've never liked mushrooms.Very bitter.
2. That is NOT a direct reference to LiveCode: that is a warning.
I have seen many firms, institutions, individuals who after a lot of work and a lot of "we talk with you" stuff suddenly or slowly withdraw from their high level of interactivity with their customers and start being high-handed and arrogant.
My experience with LiveCode over the last 16 odd years is that, most of the time, they have been very helpful.
Occasionally I get a slight whiff of mushrooms; only a whiff.
3. Knee-jerk reactions to people's comments: never a good idea.
I would like to believe that LiveCode have built up a relatively good rapport with a large number
of their customers (i.e. those who don't just take the product and run, but wish
to become involved), and it would be everyone's loss were that to disappear.

I wonder how frequent vitriol spiced up with foul language helps that.I would like to believe that LiveCode have built up a relatively good rapport with a large number

If you had had the dubious benefits of an English boarding school educationI wonder how frequent vitriol spiced up with foul language helps that.
(which I did) you would know what "vitriol" and "foul language" really was:
and "sh*t" ain't anywhere near it.

Re: LiveCode Marketing Suggestions
Aw.
My two favorite helpers.
I am reminded that, as an American, one has to be more careful of nuances among those who speak English than those who speak, say, Martian.
For example, in "The Life of Brian", the crowd is badgering Brian with all sorts of nonsense, and Brian is increasingly, exasperatingly telling them to get lost, in all kinds of different ways. The crowd just does not accept that he is serious. They think he is the Messiah, after all.
But when he tells them to F### Off, they get his meaning instantly, and become still and quiet. In England, that short phrase is never trivialized, whereas any and all others can be.
In the US, there is hardly a discernible difference.
Shake hands, please.

No conflict with Richmond, just different tastes. He feels frequent complaining and colorful language are helpful, and I feel differently. We are each entitled to our opinions.

Richmond.
1- Americans assume that all sentient beings will learn English, so we do not have to learn any other language.
2- We know you invented the tongue, but we made it universal, I have a French friend who once admitted ro me that one reason the French dislike Americans is because the Lingua Franca is now English,
3- You're welcome,
Craig

Ach, mun be we did mak that leid, but ye fowk i Sudron widnae jalouse that!you invented the tongue
And here's a quick translation for people who do not speak Scots:
Humph, possibly we did invent English, but the people in England do not realise that!
As far as I am aware 'English' is a sort of Creole formed when some Saxons
felt brave enough to have a chat with some Normans . . . I don't think "English" was invented,
it's what happened when a bunch of Saxons couldn't cope with Norman French Grammar and
a bunch of Normans couldn't cope with Saxon Grammar: i.e. what happens when you lock a load of
illiterate hairies in a room with a large barrel of beer.
Both the Englsh and the North Americans (not to mention the people "down under")
have been mangling things ever since.
Now, Scots, of course, is vastly superior . . . that's why it is only spoken by cow hands and tractor boys.
I have several French friends who like the Scots because we have a shared emnity . . .
This is, of course, entirely logical as most English have got some French ancestors, most French
have got Saxon ancestors, and we Scots are a right mixture.
The North Americans are, it goes without saying, a "pure" race, sprung from the soil ready made.

AND: not to get distracted from LiveCode Marketing Suggestions . . .
. . . as LiveCode is made in Scotland . . .
. . . and Scots have a reputation for being blunt and to the point . . .
How about:
LiveCode, Blunt and to the Point; there's no curly brackets on us.

Re: LiveCode Marketing Suggestions
Nah, English is a (partly or big part) derivative from Fries (a dutch dialect acknowledged as a language, which you can even translate to using Google-translate).
Example:
Green (say Grain with a hard R) = Groen = Color Green
And lucky for you guys we sold New York = Nieuw Amsterdam to the English folks and we got Suriname instead, else you'd be all talking and singing Dutch songs.
And lucky for us(me), because as a Dutch person i do not like Dutch songs.(most of it).

Re: LiveCode Marketing Suggestions
That has no factual basis whatsoever.English is a (partly or big part) derivative from Fries
