Impressed.

Post by richmond62 » Thu Jan 05, 2017 4:20 pm

I posted a message about a problem I was having with Unicode on the Use-List yesterday at 17.33 Central European time. [ http://lists.runrev.com/pipermail/use-l ... 33724.html ]

It was picked up by Ali Lloyd today at 9.36 Central European time. [ http://lists.runrev.com/pipermail/use-l ... 33772.html ]

An explanation as to what was wrong was posted by Mark Waddingham at 10.19 Central European time. [ http://lists.runrev.com/pipermail/use-l ... 33774.html]

Mark Waddingham had already posted a bug report: http://quality.livecode.com/show_bug.cgi?id=19045

and started work on sorting things out: https://github.com/livecode/livecode/pull/5020

The problem has already been sorted out and is ready to fold into the LC 8.1.3 -rc-1 build.

Wow, Wow and Triple Wow!

Of course, if you are not prepared to wait and want to know what I did while
I was drinking coffee in a hotel lobby while my wife went swimming, you
can play with this:

It will convert Hexadecimal numbers into Decimal numbers (that's the bit I did in my head in the hotel lobby when
I finished my detective novel and the coffee), and then give you the surrogate pairs for messing around with Unicode.

Here's the stack.
