Klaus is close to 8000 posts

Post by [-hh] » Sun Jan 03, 2016 1:40 am

I'm not here next days, so let me mark this fact a little bit in advance:

Klaus has only to 'fill' the top ten rows of the attached image then he has written 8000 posts.
What a great community contribution ... Thank you Klaus.

After reading a lot of posts of you (and of some others of the "forum circle of LC-masters") the function to generate the points of the 'triangle polygon of 8001 posts' has, of course, less than 10 lines. I like your 'compact style' very much, although I'm missing too often semicolons :-)

Soon ...Klaus has written 8000 posts.
What a great community contribution ... Thank you Klaus.
Thank you Klaus I learned a lot from you.

I had made an medal of Honor for Klaus when he had about 4500 community contributions in 2013 and he was mentioned during the Livecode 2013 conference for his support for the forum but this time the medal would be too big.... :)

Kind regards
Bernd

Hi friends,

semicolons?
We don't need no stinkin' semicolons! :D

Well, I played a bit with Hypercard when I got my first Mac LC, but actually did not "get" it at that time.

Then in 1999 I discovered and started learning MetaCard without internet (yep!) only with trial
and error (and the dictionary, which many newbies tend to neglect, which makes me really angry!
That is the cause of my sarcasm sometimes, I have to confess), so I really know how things can
be done and how steep the learning curve is.

And I have a lot of time at my hands, one of the benefits of being old and unemployed. :?
Luckily I am also a good bass player and even have some paid gigs from time to time! :D
Check my website for some video and audio: http://www.major-k.de/bass/index.html

Best and a happy new year

Klaus

Don't get me wrong, I really do not want to complain!
In my days as a professional musician I often had a lot less money than today! :D

This comment brings me memories. :D

Me too, started with MetaCard, without an Internet connection
and my first interest in December 2001 was to learn about QTVR control.
http://lists.runrev.com/pipermail/metac ... 00292.html

After this, I printed in light color papers (blue, pink, yellow, green, cream)
and stored in five binders all text from lessons, scripts, sample stacks and reference.
Since then, they sit near my computer.

Still today, I believe that the full potential of this platform
is largely untapped and unexplored.

Hopefully, this will change really soon, after LiveCode starts contacting
Universities to translate the english-like script language
to their native tongue. It's expected that some Universities
refuse, arguing that this would be no useful or even harmful,
but this reaction is normal when you ask people to do
something that no one have done before.

Klaus, Have a Great Year 2016 and Many Thanks for your Help
in every mail list and forum that you have participated! :)
