[OT]Now we know why LC spells it "color", HTML5 datamining

Post by Simon » Thu Jul 31, 2014 8:36 pm

Just for kicks I took the data from the HTML5 campaign page and ran some numbers.
At the time there were 730 contributors.

UK comes in with a respectable 77
Australian surprise at 40
France Canada and Germany with 36, 31, 30
Netherlands holds up their end with 25 Switzerland and Sweden close on its tail with 24
Thanks to our Italian code and campaign contributors they come in at 13

Yeah, you can see where I'm going with this :)
USA with 329

None of this is official and I probably screwed-up when I wrote the app anyways.

I believe it is necessary to specify that the list does not include all the contributors.

Of course not, those were the people with "mispelled" words in their names: James Colour, Igor Highlite, Jessica Behaviour and so on. The list couldn't be compiled with those names, threw an error. So off the list they went. :wink:

Kind regards
Bernd

The reason why RunRev spells colour "color" is because an IDE written in Scots would not have many takers;
but an IDE written in Scotland has to make at least a token anti-English demonstration.

The considered naming the product "HaggisCard", but thankfully went with "LiveCode" instead. :)
