Re: When can we simulate iOS 10?
Hi teacherguy,
Currently we are working on adding support for [Xcode 8 / iOS 10.0]-beta to LC, to use it for internal testing. Once [Xcode 8 / iOS 10.0]-stable is released, we are planning to release a LC version that will support them.
Best regards,
Panos

I guess the concern is, iOS 10 goes public at the same time LC will just be starting to incorporate. See my other post about sizing problems, it is a major issue imo.LiveCode_Panos wrote:Hi teacherguy,

Live Coders
Well it is all happening. Seems the App Store review process is now using iOS 10 meaning an App is likely to break on screen like others have reported (iPad landscape mode). That issue is reportedly now fixed in LC 8.1 but then the problem is you cannot yet test on iOS 10 as the SDK is not recognised in the Xcode 8 bundle.
Having foolishly downloaded the latest version of Xcode 8 there is no way to hook up the mobile support for iOS in the LC preferences. So will now be taking the following steps:
1. Re-install the previous version of Xcode (from backup)
2. Re-test all previous Apps on device with iOS 10 on to check whether broken
3. Re-build Apps with LC 8.1
4. Re-test Apps on iOS 10 on device with iOS 10 on to check whether fixed
5. Re-build and submit other Apps for App Store review
Hopefully a new LC v8 will allow the use of the new iOS SDK so can test in software first.

Colleagues
Well, the plan was working fine until the testing on a device running iOS 10. In Xcode 7.3.1 there is an error stating "Could not find developer disk image."
So it looks like you can only transfer an App built in LC 8.1 to a device running iOS 10 via Xcode 8.
Will experiment a bit further but for now stuck unless somebody out there has an easy solution.

Solved the install problem identified above. Simply use AirLaunch, the LC plugin available here:
http://hyperactivesw.com/airlaunch/index.html
App installed and tested. Works fine with no display issue on iOS 10. Relief. Hope this is helpful for others.
Now to continue with all the other Apps.

Re: When can we simulate iOS 10?
I get the "Could not find developer disk image" but it does not seem to have any impact so I have not been worrying about it. Apps load fine onto the device.

TeacherGuy
That is interesting. Thanks.
Just had confirmation that an LC app built with 8.1 pass App Store review process so now to upload all the others!

Re: When can we simulate iOS 10?
Yep my update was good as well. Whew!
Re: When can we simulate iOS 10?
A quick update: we expect to deliver built-in Xcode 8 support in LiveCode 8.1.1-rc-1, but we are currently working several release-critical issues.

Re: When can we simulate iOS 10?
Has any tried using "TEST FLIGHT" until the simulation has been fixed in 8.1.1?
