iOS Free Deployment
Just a quick question. From what I understand, you have enroll in the iOS developer program in order to put your mobile apps on the Apple App Store ($99/year). My question is: is there any way around that? I have heard from my instructor at school that there might be something to the effect of beta testing your app for free to a limited number of people. I want to make an app for my youth minister at church that he and his students could use as a tool for learning, coordinating events, etc. I don't care about putting it on the app store, I just want to be able to share it with them. At this point enrolling in the program is not an option, so if this is true, it would be very helpful. Thanks!

Apple's development program is cheap compared to the hardware cost: to build for iOS requires that you buy a Mac.

Re: iOS Free Deployment
You must join the developer program to distribute an iOS app in any way , including distribution to testers. An iOS app won't install without a distribution certificate, and you must be a must be a member of the program to get one.
