Application Loader warning (recurrenceRule)

Hi folks. Submitting an update to a previous approved LiveCode based iOS App Store application and I get the following warning from Application Loader:

Issue: The app references non-public selectors in Payload/<appname>.app/<appname>: recurrenceRule, setRecurrenceRule

The app makes no use of the event kit or any externals other than rrMicrophone so I'm assuming this is a warning regarding the engine itself. The app was built using LiveCode 5.5.1 and Xcode 4.4.1. I submitted a similar app a few weeks ago using the same combination and did not see this warning.

The submit went through and I'm hoping it won't be an issue as whatever code that might use these selectors shouldn't actually be invoked by the app but just in case it's a known issue I though I'd ask.

I did not try submitting with LiveCode 5.5.2 yet as the threading changes to the engine require some testing first. If this is an issue fixed in that update I'll push ahead with it.

I have had exactly the same Application Loader with updates of two Apps in the past few days. Like you the Apps were built with LC 5.5.1 but with Xcode 4.3.2. The same issue was flagged but the binary was uploaded fine. There have been no issues before (builds with LC 5.0.2) and certainly no additional coding via LC to introduce this.

As you say it might by a LC issue or it could be a change in the way Apple is currently screening the binary and APIs. Have to wait and see whether this means the Apps are rejected and what the comments are via the resolution centre. Hopefully there will be none.

Has anyone else come across this warning during the week?

Someone just reported on the mailing list that these errors don't cause the App Store to reject your app. So you're okay.

That is most helpful - will report back here on success with binary acceptance in due course.

I am delighted to report that the submitted App was approved despite the Application Loader warning about the recurrenceRule. Grateful to Jacqueline for the heads up on this error. Useful for all developers to be aware of.

Does anyone know the reason why this warning occurs?

Just FYI LiveCode 5.5.2 + Xcode 4.5 yields same error when updating existing app. Didn't reject and expect it to get through.

Seems to be a common issue that is flagged up across all versions of Application Loader.

The good news is that the submitted Apps continue to upload and are approved after successful review. :D

Colleagues

With the latest version of Application Loader - 2.8 - uploading an App no longer reports this issue. :D

It could have been a bug within Application Loader that created the issue. Whatever, seems to be fixed at last!

Hi all, I'm sending my first app created with LiveCode to the App Store, I read different information around and I'm a bit confused now :) is this tutorial http://lessons.runrev.com/s/lessons/m/4 ... -app-store yet useful or there is a most updated way to proceed?
