Including the App Store ICON in xCode 9

Post by quailcreek » Thu Dec 21, 2017 3:16 am

I was just on iTunesConnect updating some apps and I noticed something. The App Store ICON, the 1024 x 1024 one, is now supposed to be added to the build in xCode. Do we now need a place for this in the iOS standalone settings along with the other ICONs.?

Is this still a relevant process:
Compress/Zip the LC standalone .app
Rename the zip file application.ipa

I assume now with xCode 9 we need to add the App Store ICON to the zip file?

I asked about this and Elanor submitted a bug report to have this ICON pick added to the standalone settings. Thank you Elanor.

Do we have any answers to the questions?

As far as adding the App Store ICON, it does not get added to the zip file. The bug report above will have this added to the binary. The zip file process is still valid, I believe. If you have AirLaunch it will generate the .ipa file so you don't need to do the zip file.
