ANN: V1.3 TinyIDE Released

Post by AndyP » Fri Dec 15, 2017 9:24 am

I've updated TinyIDE to 1.3 with the following.

Settings/Features added:

Options to show or hide Classic, Widget and Graphic tool pallets.
A default stack size can be set for new stacks.
Collect stacks now uses a modified version of CollectMyStacks so that stacks can be selected for collection.
Settings panel restructured.
Code for copying the LiveCode IDE pallets rewritten to improve speed, reliability and to allow easier updating for when when LiveCode rearrange the the Tools pallet.

Nice!

Couple of things I noticed, new version seems to still have the 'random feature' :D that was a problem previously, if you had widgets turned off in the tool palettes, you don't see the regular 'tools' in the group. It is not a 'huge' problem, since turning widgets back on in the Lc tool pallet 'restores' all the icons, but something to think about in a future revision.

Something else I noticed was that the Lc menu bar pops up every time you start Lc, and you then click the house button on Tiny to get rid of it. When I use Tiny, I think I'd prefer the option of never seeing the Original Menu bar being in the settings. After playing with Richmond's little IDE, I don't think it is more than a couple of lines of code, and probably a preferences file.

Will play with it more as time allows, thank you again Andy.

Thanks for the feedback.
Having a default start TinyIDE with LC toolbar hidden is a good suggestion..its now on my todo list.
Will look into the lost widgets etc.
