LiveCode 8.1 has several great new features:

Faster, better networking with tsNet
------------------------------------
In partnership with Tech Strategies, LiveCode Indy and Business editions now automatically use the new tsNet external to make your network-aware apps more reliable and responsive.

Windows multimedia without QuickTime
------------------------------------
A completely-rewritten Windows player object means that LiveCode 8.1 has out-of-the-box video playback on Windows, Android, MacOS and iOS.

Streamlined deployment
----------------------
The updated and improved standalone builder automatically handles adding externals, extensions and script libraries to your app, and enables one-click deployment to all platforms.

LiveCode 8.1.0 contains 2 additional bug fixes since the LiveCode 8.1.0 RC 2 release.

Known issues
============
* The Windows installer will fail when running from a network share

* The browser widget does not work on 32-bit Linux

* HTML5 standalones do not currently work when they contain extensions with dependencies

* 64-bit standalones for Mac OS X do not have support for audio recording or the revVideoGrabber external
