Hi everyone,

In a few days, we will be shipping copies of my book Programming LiveCode for the Real Beginner again. If you don't want to wait long, this is the time to order your copy. If you order it now, We'll be shipping it in a few days and you'll get it within 10 days (depending on your location). Go to http://livecodebeginner.economy-x-talk.com/ for more info.

We have added TrialPay as a payment option. This means that you can pay with credit card again, without having to use PayPal. If available, you can order an alternate product and receive the book for free or you choose the "rather pay" option and pay for the book. (Currently, TP is unavailable in some countries; we try to fix this). If you're in the Euro zone, you might want to do a bank transfer.

Another new sales channel is Lezerspunt.nl. Although this is a Dutch website, they ship all over the world. Currently, this is the best option if you are in the Netherlands and want to use iDeal. (If you are in a different country, you can use PayPal). If you click on this link http://qery.us/3z3 you will go directly to the display page for my book in the Lezerspunt store.

After ordering your book, make sure to keep an eye on your mail box (and possibly spam box). We will send you an e-mail, asking you to confirm your postal address. If you don't confirm your address, we can't send you your book. Please, make sure that PayPal, TrialPay and your credit card company have your correct e-mail address, phone number and postal address. They will forward this information to Economy-x-Talk and if any information is incorrect, your book may not arrive.

I know that many people are currently studying the book. If you have any questions, you can ask at http://livecodebeginner.economy-x-talk.com/qa/ where you can also discuss subjects with fellow "students" and if you're lucky I'll answer your questions myself.

Kind regards,

Mark
I'd buy it - but only if there was a digital copy. Sure, digital copies come with some risk but if you're smart you can use it to your advantage like so many other people do.

Anyway, I'll patiently wait until a digital copy is available or someone else answers that need.

Thanks Mark - let me know when you decide to get with the age :D.

Hi,

The results of the questionnaire everybody was able to fill out clearly showed that making a digital version of the book doesn't make sense. If you don't agree with this result, or even if you do agree, you can still do the survey at http://livecodebeginner.economy-x-talk.com/survey/

Kind regards,

Mark

I find that surprising, but I also imagine the people that bought your physical book were probably more keen to wanting physical information anyway.

While I'm sure your book is no Harry potter, there are cases time and time again that ebooks not only have greater sales but lead to physical sales as well (As can be seen from your stats of your survey - some people just want physical books.)

For more information on why piracy, while out there, isn't as big of an issue as you would think - it generally has no effect or a positive one on sales.

This is good too - (though it pertains to music, and not ebooks - same principle)

Oh, and the humblebundles(humblebundle.com) are also a great example of how people tend to pay rather than pirate (Sure there were some, but the positive far outweighed the negative)

Anyway, food for thought. If you do decide to sell and or wouldn't mind selling to select few (You can watermark each page with my full name and address for all i care :p) then let me know :) I'd buy it in a heart beat ^^

Hi,

This has been discussed already. There is no point in discussing it all again. Just do the survey. It is the only way to tell Economy-x-Talk about your opinion.

Kind regards,

Mark

Well, considering you are the founder, owner, and one of the three people working there one would think that speaking to you directly instead of filling out a form would bring things to a brighter light, but funny how the world doesn't work as expected :).

Well, this is surprising. Deleting the title and "moving" the post just goes to point out you're not certain in your decision. You sir, have lost a sale - even if it was digital.

Enjoy staying in the past with your web 1.0 website.
