Hi,
I am quite a newbie in AE use, I wonder if there is a simple way to simulate a 3d rotation of an image object using AE; I have read the posts, and it seems that only a wire frame 3d rotation is possible. My question is: there is a way to "texture mapping" in some way the wire frame? I need to rotate an image around its y axis, that means to texture map a rectangle (it is a playing card that needs to be turned on itself). Can someone suggest me some sample code if it is possible? Thank you!
Antonio

Re: Question about a simple 3d animation
Hola Antonio,
sorry, 3D rotation of objects and/or texture mapping is not possible with AE,
just pure (and lame )wireframe stuff.
3D capabilities are not existent in LiveCode, except "faking" this with QuickTime movies/animated gifs
or single frame animation (showing lot of single images one after another).
Or maybe even FLASH animation displayed in a browser object.
Best
Klaus

Re: Question about a simple 3d animation
Thank you Klaus for the clear and "definitive" answer I will try your suggestion to "fake" the movement.
I wonder if a "browser object" is compatible with iOs compilation of LiveCode, and also if Franklin3D is.. Do you know something about this?

Dear Klaus,
lame is in the eye of the beholder
For the rest, you are right, no texturing with AE. I might add: No Franklin on iOs. Browser object on iOs, yes, but no flash there...
All the best,
Malte
