Turns out there's a big "Education" link directly in the main menu
That's funny, I knew that.

Doesn't seem to stimulate educational uptake though.

So, what would seem to matter is not "Education" in the menu, but whether . . .

Instead of complaining about the lack of a marketing plan that is directed towards the educational market, why not take all your ideas and suggestions and formulate a marketing plan and share it with them?

Not such a bad idea: however I have so many things to do:

1. Running a private language school.

2. Other things that fill up all the other spaces.

That . . .

And, oddly enough, keeping my marketing (of my language school & summer programming courses)
takes quite a time as well.

Oh, look:

https://www.xojo.com/resources/learn.php

You can download a free textbook.

S*xy stuff:

"Teacher's Edition
Introducing the new Teacher Guide for Introduction to Programming with Xojo! This 39-page guide has been developed to help you teach your students how to program, even if you have limited experience yourself."

"teaching decisions in secondary and post-secondary CS education are rarely based on what will engage students, be easier to learn, or lead to transferable knowledge. Instead, we tend to make decisions on what obviously looks like what current professionals do"

Sounds like a good student project !! For someone, not me or you...

I'm still really curious as to how the whole of Scotlands educational system using it worked out? That board you visit, someone who knew might post it there saying oh, something like
Scotlands entire educational system went to Lc with xyz results in the first year, etc...
If it could do this for Scotland, then blah blah blah.

The claims about how many schools in Scotland actively use LiveCode for teaching are
extremely hard to verify:

This article from 4 years ago: http://uk.prweb.com/releases/2013/2/prweb10449626.htm

claims that 25% of High Schools in Scotland have adopted LiveCode.

That was 4 years ago, and while that may have been true at the time I cannot find any reliable follow up as to how many of those 25% stuck with LiveCode, or whether more schools adopted LiveCode.

The LiveCode website states that "Over a third of Scottish schools are now teaching using LiveCode." although it is not clear where they came from that value and they don't link to any external validation.

The BBC (notoriously unreliable on most things): https://www.bbc.co.uk/education/guides/ ... revision/4

state this:

"Examples of high level programming languages commonly used in Scottish schools are:

Python
LiveCode
Visual Studio/Visual Basic
COMAL
TrueBasic
Xojo (formerly Real Basic)
BlueJ (Java)
Pascal"

which, while being comforting that LiveCode is actually mentioned, gives us no statistics whatsoever.

The articles were interesting reads. Being a way outsider to educational curriculum stuff, I wouldn't even know the questions to ask, never mind finding the answers, but thanks for those links.

Kinda like how many people use Linux. Or FileMaker installed base. Or Adobe subscriptions. Or the number of iPhone Xes Apple has sold.

Very true . . . but the people who belong to the CAS seem to "thrill their gorilla" with checkable statistics.

Lend me your imagination for just a moment for considering the many possible outcomes
of implementing this idea:

What would happen if we promote Local Sponsored Multimedia Mania Contests
using only Livecode Desktop IDE and LiveCode Server?
