Actually, that is becoming less correct (not applicable to 7.x), but versions going forward.
No, wait a minute, you're wrong.
Livecode became open sources from version 6.0.2 and on (7, 8 and 9 ...).
So you have no limits from version 6.0.2.
The main difference between commercial and free open source versions are mainly just the license. You can't create a closed software without a commercial version.
There are some extras in commercials depending which licence you choose:

Well, I probably *should* have typed that as "(not applicable up to 7.x, or to 7.x -> back), my bad

However, I consider my statement essentially correct, based on this -

To compare apples to apples, there are now 2 Oss versions, one is free, the other is not. The one that is not has 3 more options than the one that is. I based the statement on that, they essentially are starting to have limits on the "free" version of the Oss branch.

Before that starts a fight, I am emphatically NOT saying this is "good" or "bad", or anything else. I am just saying that it is becoming less accurate to say the editions are equal, although easily up to 7.x that was indeed the case, but as there are now 2 "Oss" versions ([Oss ≠ free] as in money, necessarily) , it may need to be said more specifically, thats all :)

Me, I have no stick in this, most of my time is currently spent in versions so old no one else uses them
