Leap 42.3, the newest version of openSUSE's traditional "regular-release" distro, has been released. A quick test of LiveCode 8.1.5 and 9.0-dp6 reveals no OS related problems running LiveCode under this distro/version. I installed Leap with a KDE Plasma desktop, using the openSUSE installer defaults and no additional packages.
The issues with Leap 42.1 seem to have been an anomaly as LC installs and runs smoothly in 42.2 and 42.3.
I should note that LC 9.0-dp8 does suffer from the browser bug introduced in dp7. Hopefully that will be resolved in the near future.
(Edited to make it clearer that the OS was installed using all defaults and no additional packages were added, or necessary, to get LiveCode to work.)

Re: openSUSE Leap 42.3, unsupported but WORKS!
Thanks for checking that, Warren. I haven't used any SUSE myself in a long time, but Bryan Lunduke is on the openSUSE board and he likes LiveCode, so it's great to know he'll have a good time with the latest version as well over the last few bugs get worked out.
