Does this function work under Mac OS X? I need to write a script to talk to a USB GPS device and I'd like to use Revolution Media if it will work. I've called the function a couple of times, but it does not appear to return anything. Granted, I have not installed the GPS USB-serial driver, as I've not yet purchased the GPS antenna.
This is somewhat of a "chicken or the egg" situation. I don't want to purchase the GPS antenna unless I'm certain I can talk to it with a custom applications.
Thanks!

I recently asked if Rev could communicate with a USB webcam. The
answer from others was that it is yes on the Windows platform, but no for
Mac and Linux. Of course, this was not the word from the Rev people, but
the users on the mailing list, so it may not be the defacto answer.
If you don't get an answer from someone else who knows more about
Rev than I do, then send an email to the Rev people about this.

I not sure if there is a direct script either to work with OSX but you can access usb for OS X either with an external or also can access some usb devices by command line, shell or apple script. You may or may not need to make a new kernal for darwin. depending on the IO
I have used many shell scripts to extend revolution for use with OS X and it works great. Still faster and easier than using X-code.
Here is a link to apple developer info for usb; that's if no one else has other info to do it directly with in revolution.

I hope this may help some what.

Re: the driverNames?
Yes, but it misses some modems, such as the internal modem (should you have one).Tom Morrison wrote:Does this function work under Mac OS X?
