wmvCore.dll dependency - AARRGHH

Post by mvillion » Sun Dec 20, 2015 12:23 am

Hello
I have a piece of software the reads email via pop and then send a response by SMTP.
It worked great from my old code base.

I recently updated the code using Livecode 7.1 Indy to replace some of the text as it was out of date, not changing the fundamentals, and now the code does not run on the server as it says it is missing WMVCore.dll. This is a media player file!!
I have not added any media component nor can I find out where this dependency has come from.

I did manage to clear this dll but it just through up another media related dll.

This is driving me nuts. I cannot work it out and there are no entries I can find either on this site or google to give me a clue.

Any clues people

Thanks
Matt

That's strange, livecode contains itself quite all libraries needed. Please contact customer support.

Hi

I have found the issue. Media player was introduced as a dependency in 7.1 as part of an upgrade to support camera.
This is a known bug that if media player is not installed this error will occur. RunRev are looking at failing safe in a later release if the library's are not installed.
