Requirements to run LC Server on a rented server

Are you using LiveCode to create server scripts or CGIs?

Requirements to run LC Server on a rented server

Hi,

I haven't found a comprehensive summary anwhere what to ask the server guys when planning to rent a dedicated/ shared server with the intention to run an LC server. It may be useful to have this information at one place, for further reference:

For a planned (faceless) LC server on a rented machine I have to make sure I have what follows, for each of these modes:
  1. Server (or StandAlone) process always running (Socket server, Chat server, ...):
    -
    -
  2. Server (or StandAlone) in command line mode:
    _
    _
  3. Server in CGI mode:
    _
    _
Would that make sense? Do we have the ppl to provide this information?
Goal is to have a check-list to discuss with the server guys before renting.

Have fun!
All code published by me here was created with Community Editions of LC (thus is GPLv3).
If you use it in closed source projects, or for the Apple AppStore, or with XCode
you'll violate some license terms - read your relevant EULAs & Licenses!
